With the incoherent, imbecilic, and irresponsible decision of the 2025 splintering, decaying, parasitic riddled executive branch to end the minting of the United States penny, there opens up the opportunity to put into reality what has been presented at We The Pupil for many years via Common Cents.
A very wise and prudent act of the administration that will assuredly replace the 2025 debacle of debauchery, will be to set minting of all circulated coinage on a ten year cycle. Beginning with the 2030 Census, the newly authorized penny will be coined and released into the hands of We The People. Then every two years hence will bring the issuance of the next denomination. The ten year nickel beginning mintage in 2032. The ten year dime beginning mintage in 2034. The ten year quarter beginning mintage in 2036. And rounding out the common circulated coins, the ten year half dollar will begin mintage in 2038.
Subsequently each ten year census will begin the new cycle of circulated coinage. Yet it continues to make sense and obviously much more cents that commemorative sets will remain annual with all costs of mintage reimbursed through the price points set, so no loss. And the ten year cycle of coins will minimize and actually eliminate losses as well—given the proven lasting ability of coins intermingled with the added benefit of anchoring the pricing index to an Honest Abe L sensibility.
